Maybe it's not them moving slowly, but us moving too fast?

There once was a little girl, not even the size of a blade of grass, that so desperately wished to fly. Every night she would dream of spreading her wings and seeing the world from up above. And every morning she would wake up and realize that she did not have any wings and that she wouldn't be able to fly. She climbed up the highest blades of grass, but the view wasn't anything like the view she had been dreaming of. But one day, she found a blade of grass that was different from the others, much thicker and much taller. She started to climb upwards, and she climbed and climbed - it was such a long way, and so exhausting. Then, finally, she reached the top. But what was that? A fluffy flower, of a kind she had never seen before. Suddenly, a shadow fell over her. A stranger was coming her way. "Oh no", she thought, was he going to step on her? But right before he reached the long blade of grass with the fluffy flower on top, the stranger stopped. "Oh, a dandelion.", said the stranger and picked up the blade of grass with the fluffy flower. The little girl felt the ground moving and she was very afraid. She clung very hard to the fluffy flower and squeezed her eyes shut. "Make a wish", whispered the stranger and blew at the dandelion. Slightly confused, the little girl opened her eyes to see what he meant. The stranger was almost out of sight, when the wind carried his words, "bon voyage", over to her. She looked down and she could hardly believe it. She was flying! It was the beginning of a long and exciting journey.

Being rejected, shouted at or beat up - there are many reasons for wanting to seek revenge. There might be anger, hate, or sadness boiling up inside of one's soul, after someone had let them down. The dark wish to put them into the same position as they were put into, demonstrating power and seeking justice. They will think about hitting back by the same means, and they might be expected to do so. But the unexpected is the much stronger way to go. Hitting back by being kind and polite will be much more provoking than any mean words or actions could ever be.

By hitting back, you will be as bad of a person as your opponent. Instead, walk off and smile, and you will always stand upon them.
